I was not involved or even know Bersih 1.0 existed back then. The time has come for Bersih 2.0 to rise again and up till today, I must admit that I am not 100% sure of the motive of the march, apart from wanting a fair and clean election.
Whatever it is you guys are marching for, I think it's better than not doing anything to get your voices heard. Political apathy is for the meek.
Let me share with you, sort of, a similar story. Something bad happen in the office yesterday. A colleague of mind left her Blackberry on top of the fridge while she washed her cup and absent-mindedly left her phone there and didn't realised it was gone till about 7.00pm. She went to the pantry where she left it but the phone was gone. She tried calling her phone but no one picked it up. The next morning, she called again but the phone was switched off. And so, she wrote an email to everyone to ask if anyone has her phone for safekeeping to kindly return it to her. No one replied.
Naturally, I was pissed. I told my colleague to make a police report. And then pleaded to my HR to do something. But they did not want to do anything. They said that even if they were to threaten with a police report no one is going to own up. For me, that is not the point.
There is a phrase that I have read somewhere, "It is better to regret doing something than to regret not doing it:"

I'm staying home on 9 July, 2pm to catch up with my DVD series. It's not that I don't care, but I have only a week left in this country and I do want to get home...:)
